TraXess® is owned and operated by the KarDan Media Group, LLC. KarDan is co-owned by Karl Bingle and Dan Mackey and is based in Spokane, Washington in the U.S.A. "TraXess®" is a term coined by Karl Bingle that means "Access to your tracks". It is a registered trademark of Karl Bingle.
Karl and Dan have been designing and building custom digital jukeboxes since 2001. Karl's fist digital jukebox design dates back to the early 1990's. The first models were built under the company name Songbird at the same time that TraXess® was launched to help recording artists collaborate online. Karl invented a proprietary technology called "burst streaming" that enabled systems in public venues to stream audio and full-screen video in real-time via the Internet. The two companies became one with the formation of the KarDan Media Group, LLC which subsequently licensed the technology to a San Diego based firm.
Today, KarDan focuses on the TraXess® Digital Home Jukebox.
